# RE:NODE > RE:NODE (renode.space) hosts game servers, applications (Node.js, Python, Go, Java, Rust, C#/.NET, Bun, Deno, Laravel / PHP), static and PHP websites, databases, VDS and S3 object storage, managed from a Pterodactyl-based panel at panel.renode.space. These docs explain how a Renode app server runs so a project can be deployed to one without the panel's help. Key facts for deploying: code lives in /home/container, the only persistent folder, and runs as an unprivileged user (no root, sudo, apt, systemd or Docker). Exactly one port is reachable from outside: read it from the SERVER_PORT environment variable (also PORT when the panel starts a linked repository) and bind 0.0.0.0. On Node.js the server runs `npm install` then `npm run start` when package.json has a start script, and otherwise falls back to an entry file such as index.js. Python servers install requirements.txt and run the entry file named on the Startup tab. Web hosting servers serve committed files as they are and run nothing. Repositories deploy from GitHub through the panel's GitHub tab; a push can restart the server on the new commit. .env is never in the repository - upload it through the Files tab.
